According to their website, Grannas A Olsson is the oldest manufacturer of the original Dala wood horses.  The company was founded in 1922 and is located in Musnas in Dalarna, Sweden.
Nils Olsson, a brother, established his business in 1928.
Darlarna is sometimes referred to as Dalecarlia and/or the Dales.  The Dala horse is a world-renowned symbol of Dalarna, and the skill of hand-crafting and hand painting the horses takes many years to learn.
This Dala horse in in excellent vintage condition.  There's a small spot of missing paint on one ear--unsure if it's a flaw or a small chip.  A Grannas A Olsson label is still attached to underside of horse; the underside also has some writing on it.  There's also some writing on the pamphlet that has the date, "6-94."
